What P31 means to me is many things. It is a major part of my life. As I am getting close to my 1 year mark with my P31 family, I look back and see how far I have come, the accomplishments I have made and the Amazing Family of sister I have!! I am truly Blessed to have an Amazing trainer who pushes me beyond what I could ever do on my own. She is a wonderful friend and sister. Along my journey I have made many new friends/ sisters. We have a bond that can never be broken. We lift each other up and cheer for each other too. I have confidence now that was buried many years ago and I have p31 to thank for this. I never miss a workout because I feel like I have let myself and my sisters down as well as a part of my day is not complete.  We hold each other accountable, pray with each other, encourage one another, and that is something you don’t get just everywhere. I am looking forward to what the new year holds for us all and looking back a little over a year from now and seeing where God has taken me. #P31STRONG

I really don’t even know where to start. This class has changed me in so many ways. I have belonged to gyms and recreation centers before. They are polite and sweet people there of course but nothing At all like what I have encountered from joining P31. In this class I have found friendships from all different ages of women.  I have learned how to take care of my body from the inside out.  I now know that beauty is not  just in the way someone looks but also in the way they treat one another.  I’ve learned that these women are there for you at the drop of a hat (and have been for me personally) and that is beyond awesome to me!

Before joining P31 if I started to gain a pound or two I would starve myself to get back to what I thought was a healthy/thin weight. I had it soo wrong. Being thin has always been my “thing”. I was always the skinny one in the group. I was also probably one of the most unfit and unhealthy ones in achieving this “skinny” status.  I don’t want that anymore and I don’t want my three daughters and soon to be granddaughter to ever think that way. I want them to see that being fit is so much more important.  Strong is my new skinny. That quote is even posted on my bathroom mirror now for me to see every morning.

This class has made me see everything so differently and for that I am forever grateful. I love P31 and all that its given and shown me over the last year and a half.

From a former trainer now living in Brazil:

I want to thank P31 Fitness

a million times in my head every day while I am working out!

I am so thankful to God that I met you and I am thankful for the privilege of working for you and your program.   I am VERY TIRED of being CRAMPED in this tiny apartment. I feel very STRESSED often from living   in these tight circumstances,   but thanks to you and all I have learned form P31 Fitness, I can continue to work out in our’”stuffed full of everything you can imagine” bedroom.  I can’t do lines or running in the bedroom and traveling kickboxing is interesting ?  but the rest I make work !!

Thank you !   If I didn’t have P31 Fitness I would not be able to handle the stress and I would be so out of shape and useless!!!!!!!!!

I am crazy impatient to start here… we are stuck in the process of finding our own place due to paperwork issues… but we trust God and His timing to be best.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my (less stressed out heart)

In 2003 I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus.   I have been in denial of this diagnosis since day one, however I have had one health problem after another related to this disease.   In 2013 during the Holiday season I began thinking about my life and the fact that in less than 2 years I would be turning 50 years old.    It was during that time I received a facebook invitation from a church friend to attend a P31 Blast the week after Christmas and I accepted.   My husband was skeptical as I have never been an early morning person and this class was scheduled for 6am Mon-Fri and I repelled the idea of exercise.   That was the hardest yet most sobering week of my life.   I was only capable of performing approximately 20-30% of the exercise required.   I had no endurance or balance.    I felt like I was going to be sick at my stomach and couldn’t breathe!!  After that week I became determined to improve me.     When I received and email in the spring there would be a P31 class in my home town from 5am-6am I immediately signed up.   I was curious if I had improved since the months prior.   I was able to perform a majority of the exercise and keep up. It’s been 8 months since I took that first step and attended the P31 Blast.   I am 42 pounds lighter and have ran in six 5K’s.   I am in the best shape I have ever been in.   I feel better about myself and better in general.   P31 has helped me to learn to eat better and to have a new outlook on life.   I value myself more because “I am worth it”.   My medications have been reduced to less than half what I was taking.   My husband began working out and eating healthier as well.   P31 is the way I start my day- Spiritual and Physical exercise, nutritional information and Christian fellowship with my sisters in Christ.

“I am FINALLY feeling a real difference in my body.  I have lost 10 lbs and found muscles I forgot I have.  Here are some other, out-of-class differences:

–I can actually jump on the trampoline with my grandchildren.

–I can get in and out of the bathtub without being afraid of falling.

–I can work in the yard for hours and not feel worn out.

–I can do the HOT DOG dance with Mickey Mouse and my grandchildren, all the way through!

–I sleep better than I have in a while.

These are just a few, but they are life changing!”

Spent the day today cleaning my closet took me forever to get it finished, but I am so excited to be able to wear some of the cute stuff that I have NOT been able to wear since before Easton was born! I never thought I would enjoy working out so much. I feel so much better!!!! My back is stronger, and I have much more energy. It’s nice to still be able to eat the things I love, but limiting the amount and choosing foods that are better for me and when I’m full I stop eating. I have stopped drinking soda, and energy drinks. I’ve set goals for myself and I don’t step on the scale every day, and I’ve stopped worrying about a ” diet” I’ve learned so much since I have started P31 about nutrition and fitness! I enjoy the fellowship with women who are at different levels of fitness and using modifications if needed! The workout is different every day and both trainers I have learned so much from. If any ladies are interested in learning more about P31 let me know and I will send you the link. I love this program it’s so much more than just a workout. It’s a life changing program. For all ages, shapes and levels. The hardest part is getting the motivated and getting started. It’s 1 hour a day and you are worth it. I started last year in mid June since then the results are mind blowing to me. The first time I did my evaluations we began on 1/15/2014 and ended on 4/7/2014….. I don’t normally share this information like this but because I believe in this program I will share…. I had never recorded or taken any measurements until 1/15/14 and took them again 4/7/14….. In that amount of time with eating right and working out hard I have currently lose 27.8 pounds and 5 inches around the waist. That is in 4 months time. I had noticed the changes since I started in June that was 10 months ago I weighed more than I ever had(187 pounds) and was having major back problems. To say that I’ve made progress is an understatement. It was a slow start, and little by little I have made the changes and am completely in love with P31 fitness! In ten months I have lost 44.8 pounds. I’ve worked so hard and I am proud to say that I did it the healthy way and worked hard and will continue to work as hard as I can until I reach my goals! Join me ladies !!!!! For more info let me know , it will change your life!!!! There are options on the days of the week and times you attend class!!!!! You are worth it!

I visited my first P31 class a month ago and fell in love with it.  I felt comfortable being with other women in a safe non-judgemental environment.  After the workout I wanted to do it again; not right away because I was exhausted-but soon.  I enrolled right away and after a month I am stronger, more flexible and have more energy.  While the physical aspect is what probably draws most at first, what impacted me the most was the spiritual aspect. It is something I have felt is missing in other programs.  I know from personal experience how very important it is to put God first.  The songs and devotional as well as lessons in building our temples for God, is something I couldn’t let go.  My life has changed over this month.  When I look at my day it is very apparent that I am smack dab in the center of God’s will.  It is only by God’s grace that I can do what I do every day.  Thank you for helping me become all God created me to be!

I  just wanted to tell you my physical goal for March was to be able to jog 1/2 mile without stopping. I met my fiance at the State Park and accomplished that goal! I couldn’t have done it without you, and this wonderful program. Thank You! Not only was I able to jog the 1/2 mile nonstop, but i jogged a full broken mile and walked another mile all in an hour”

Walking a couple days a week and cleaning was the extent of my working out program.  Joining a gym did not give me any motivation.  Joining P31 Fitness team has shown me that I can push myself harder than I ever could imagine.  The ladies in our group encourage each other: even if it’s just a smile while you’re running past in a tunnel run or high fiving during the workout.  P31 Fitness has pushed me, built my strength and stamina, and has connected me with some awesome ladies.  My body is toning up, and I am physically stronger than I ever have been in my whole life.  I have developed pride in myself for completing each workout session.  P31 Fitness above everything else has given me the gift of becoming closer to God.  The end of the workouts (mat time) always touches me in some aspect of my life.  The daily scriptures and weekly lessons have made me a stronger person spiritually and mentally!

Loving Every Minute of It!

I started P31 Fitness thinking I was just going to a workout. Nothing more, nothing less, just a workout. Just like I had done for years on my own. Little did I know, a year later, how much that workout would change me… I have worked out for many years either on my own or at a local gym. I spent hours at the gym or logged miles because it was always ALL about the NUMBER! It started with the scales. I weighed myself daily finding pleasure if the number stayed the same and frustration and anger if it went up and excitement if it went down. My workouts were always measured in numbers. I had to workout 5 – 6 times a week! I had to run at least 3.1 miles! I had to burn a certain number of calories everyday! If I didn’t hit those numbers I felt like I had wasted my workout. Really?? A wasted workout?? On gym days I would show up an hour early to get in my “extra” time and then attend an hour long class. I didn’t even realize how obsessed I was with the NUMBER. I found my security in the NUMBER. I felt like I failure when I fell short of the NUMBER. Growth began when I quit focusing on the physical and started really focusing on ALL areas of my health. I’ve learned to have grace on myself. I’m reminded daily that I’m not perfect and no one expects me to be. I know that if I keep my focus off myself and keep it on Christ and others that the numbers mean nothing! I have worth and value with no need for perfection. I no longer wear that heart rate monitor or feel like I have to track that calorie burn. I haven’t weighed myself in weeks and it’s OKAY!!

New Goals – No Numbers!

Stay Active

Eat Healthy

Be consistent

Moderation

No expectations

Grace – Lots of Grace!!

It’s so exciting to see P31 Spreading!!  Women are hungry for the TRUTH: God made you BEAUTIFUL and you are WORTH IT!!  P31 is NOT about weight loss.  It’s NOT a quick fix.  It’s HARD WORK – on a spiritual, emotional, and mental level…along with the physical.  It’s changed my life.  I’m not the same person I was 2 years ago…and it has NOTHING to do with the fact that I look better in a pair of jeans!!  Forget the quick weight loss potions and the 20lbs in 2 days; forget the detox/starvation program until you’re ready to purge some REAL baggage from your life; forget the New Year’s Resolutions and get your head on straight, and realize your WORTH with a renewed spirit of the Proverbs 31 woman: (YOU ARE) “More precious than rubies.”

I just wanted to let you know that P31 has Changed my life. I can Not talk in front of people so there was no way I could of shared my story this morning. (shy only child syndrome) Anyways I just want all of you to know that before I started coming to P31 I had hardly EVER exercised at all. I have done Pilates at home on and off for years but that’s it. My whole theory was if I needed to lose some weight I would just lay off the cupcakes and not eat for a few days. I have three daughters and one stepdaughter and I don’t want them to Ever be like me. To think I’m too fat or put on my jeans and get sick to my stomach because they aren’t loose enough. By the grace of God none of them Are like that. I want it to stay like that though. I also want to change my outlook on how I view all these things. P31 has helped with that so very much. I even have a post it note on my bathroom mirror that says “Strong is my New Skinny”. I am now starting to believe this. It feels good. I also weigh more than when I started, I actually weigh more now than I ever have. But I am okay with that. I know that I am also in the best shape I have ever been in my whole life and I feel better about myself than I ever have before. All my friends think I am crazy for getting up before 5 to go workout. I have asked several to come try it out with me… they all laugh. Well they can laugh all they want because I am going to keep waking up ? I have lupus as well as many other things that are linked to lupus and since I started coming my symptoms are way more manageable. This is probably the best change out of all this but I see the way I view myself now as way more important than if my body aches or I can skip some medicine.

Thank you for all that you do.

P31 Fitness and the Power of 4; Spiritual, Mental, Physical and Emotional is the perfect recipe for a successful physical fitness program. I am not a morning person, but I literally CRAVE P31 and how it makes me feel, so waking up at 4:45 is a part of my life that I wouldn’t change. I am stronger in all 4 areas of my spiritual, mental, physical and emotional parts of my life. I believe that “we” as a society, but especially women battle our body image as well as handling a full plate that is filled with taking care of our families and working to help support our families.

About 3 years after I had my triplets I started taking an anti-depressant because I was feeling anxious and stressed all the time. I was active with bible studies, but my workouts were obsolete. I am no longer on an anti-depressant! My anti-depressant is P31 which feeds all my needs. I still battle with stress, but having P31 and the women that show up every morning, the daily devotional emails, the hard workouts, the weekly challenges all help me to be the best Proverbs: 31 woman I can be!

Jeri Norris, Emory, Texas

In October 2012, I realized I needed to do something about my weight and lack of energy.  I was in a tight size 16 (weight 195.5) and refused to go up another size.  It wasn’t until November, after a friend talked to me about joining her Facebook fitness group, that I finally talked myself into doing something.  I joined a 3 month challenge group using the Beachbody Workout and began drinking Shakeology.  It was a good program but by the end of the 3 months, I began getting bored. I am the type that needs accountability. I told my husband if I didn’t do something else I was going to wind up quitting & then gain back all that I had lost. I had lost 12.5 lbs & 13.5 inches! Another friend (Thanks Savanna!) had been posting on Facebook about a fitness group she was involved in and how much she loved it.  I decided to give it a try. So in January 2013, I tried working out with a P31 Fitness group in Emory.  I was a little leery about being able to keep up…after all I AM 54 years old!  I loved the workout from the beginning!  The trainer was great! She let me know that I didn’t have to keep up, but work at my own pace.  I was excited that I “held my own” with the group; at least I didn’t fall out in a dead faint!  I signed up for the February session and I have been going every month since.  I did the two summer boot camps in June and July.  It was hard work, but very rewarding.  Every time I thought I couldn’t do any more, our trainer Savanna would encourage us and bribe us with an upcoming water  break…lol. At the end of July, I was down an additional 25 lbs & 14.25 more inches; that is a total of 37.5 lbs & 27.75 inches so far in my weight loss & fitness journey. I also take Juice Plus+ from P31 Fitness and I am still drinking Shakeology. I also try to do some kind of work out on the off days from P31, whether it is walking with my husband or working out with friends.  I feel so much better when I start my day with exercise and my day goes much smoother too. So many people have been asking me what I am doing to lose weight.  I tell them that it is a combination of exercise & healthy eating.  It took a long time for that to click for me, don’t wait as long as I did.  Do SOMETHING, anything! It IS hard work, but as Savanna & Holly remind us “If it was easy everyone would be doing it! You only get out of the workout what you put into it.”  We as women are so worth an hour a day to become more like a Proverbs 31 woman!  P31 women are great to encourage and applaud your accomplishments.  You will always feel encouraged, strong, tired, but exhilarated when working out with P31 Fitness.  Don’t be afraid; start today!

 Trenton, Texas, P31 Fitness Member

Just like the other 58 minutes of the workout, the last two minutes are something NO ONE can take away from me. I don’t always make time to read my emails, but I do listen when my trainer reads the devotionals. Lying on the mat, physically exhausted and all used up, God’s Word (spoken through our amazing trainers) washes over me and fills my spirit back up for the day.  The devotional time is just as important to being a P31 woman as the warm-up, work-out and cool-down.
Jackie Barnes, Trenton, Texas

In P31 our “mat time” is key to the workout. Each morning while listening to the devotional I’m always amazed at how the message relates to my life and  what I’m going through at that time. God works in mysterious ways. I think each woman would agree that it’s one of the most peaceful parts of their day. To some women this is their only time to have a moment of reflection. God has blessed me with P31 and I would encourage woman of all ages to get involved to the one closest to you.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I want to share with you my gratitude. . In every way that P31 has blessed my life. I’ve recorded, for myself, at least 20 things that have changed in my life over the last 5 months. Some are seemingly small and others seem big, but all are equally significant to me. I want to share a few of those with you:

  • I’ve learned to overcome discouragement when I didn’t “see” results immediately. Thanks to the Power of 4
  • I’ve attained a new mindset- in my heart-that working out is a way of life, not a means to attain a quick goal
  • I have a higher motivation to eat well in order to live well
  • I have a higher awareness of what I eat-what food has in it but most of all, when tempted, I think through the impact it will have on my body/health instead of just grabbing the closest thing
  • I’ve reached several of my goals-a deeper commitment to cleaner eating, developing muscle & becoming much stronger, shaving away a layer or two, to the point others have noticed & commented and an overall sense of wellness.

**One thing that happened in early August: A friend I hadn’t seen in a few months said, “You look good….No, you look well, you look really well.” This hit me at the core of my heart & sent me to reflecting on my core values for physical health. THIS is what I want, ultimately!

TO BE WELL!”

To me, this was jackpot, and something I had missed in all the years I have battled the bulge. This new realization armed me with a motivation I’ve never had. Coupling this along with the knowledge I’ve gained over the last few years on “how” to attain this, I feel I have been empowered & have a freedom from guilt, but most of all, from the shame I’ve lived under for years. I believe in this program, and though, most of the changes I mentioned did not specifically touch on the spiritual aspect of the power of four, I’m well aware that was foundation to all of it.

Thank you!!

“My husband has told me that I am “firmer” and in “better shape” than he has ever seen me in the last 21 years of marriage.  (And we have been going to the gym for 2 years and 2 months!  I have only been with P31 Fitness for “2 months!”)”

Cindy Graham, Nevada, Texas

If there is one thing I would like to emphasize to these ladies is to STAY AWAY FROM THE SCALE…IT IS NOT YOUR FRIEND!!!!!   I have gone from a size 16 to to a very accurate and comfortable size 6.  When I was a size 6 before I weighed 120 lbs. but I had no muscle tone and didn’t not feel well.  I weighed myself this morning just for curiosities sake.  I weigh 147 lbs.  I am very toned and feel amazing. Most of the time if we are overweight it is because of a hurt we received in our heart that has caused an issue between our ears.  Not because we have a true eating problem.  I want to challenge anyone who signs up for this program to take the time to do your devotional and your Bible study.  God wants to heal us.  He loves us right where we are whether we are 140 or 540 lbs. So this is my challenge to anyone who signs up for this program.  I know you want to lose weight and that’s what makes us sign up, but throw your scale away!  Do the program…ALL of the program.  You will lose weight but may also find a peace and deliverance from something in you past that has haunted you for years and THAT more than likely is the reason you put on weight in the first place.  Allow God to do His stuff.  He’ll blow your socks off!!  I know He has mine.

I have begun working out with P31 Fitness for the primary goal of weight loss. While this takes time, I am noticing a surprising added benefit of regular physical exercise. As a migraine sufferer, I have had my share of headaches, and in the past nine months, they have only become more frequent and more painful. In the fall, I even had some kind of headache for 22 consecutive days. Since I have begun working out with P31 Fitness in June, I haven’t had even ONE headache in the past 23 days. I cannot remember a time when I have been this headache-free in the last ten years.

Ashley McCraken, Sulphur Springs, Texas

I am so thankful that God put P31 in my life! I found out my aunt, Angie Edwards was doing P31 and was encouraged to join her. I started going to the M,W,F evening classes in April 2010 and enjoyed almost every minute of it. I then decided to make the commitment to myself to try out Bootcamp. Having been late to work (at 8 a.m.) almost every day for a year, this was a big deal. And a great one! I am so excited not just with the results on the outside, I have lost 12 lbs since starting, but also with how much better I feel on the inside. I have more energy, which is huge with a one year old. It is also very encouraging to have started out having such a hard time doing this stuff and now being able to do the harder stuff! Doing P31 really makes me want to be more healthy. The Power of 4 is awesome! I think about how God wants to me to handle situations more and I am more aware of the areas that I need to work on spiritually to be the P31 woman. The daily devotionals are a great too! There are some days that I get them and think “Wow, was He talking to me or what!” Keep up the great work P31 trainers. You ladies are helping to mold all of us into better women! You are amazing and I thank God every day for putting you here!

Beth Shurtleff, Sulphur Springs, Texas

I joined P31 classes in April of 2010, and reluctantly agreed to Bootcamp 1 and 2 for this summer. I am here to tell you this program has improved my life in areas I never dreamed possible. I had back surgery less than a year ago for a ruptured disk, yet still had to keep taking 4 Motrin twice a day to keep the pain managed. I decided that I needed help to lose weight and become stronger, so I chose P31. In just the short time I’ve been attending morning classes and a few evening sessions, I have strengthened my abs and back muscles to the point I am pain-free. I have Rachel and her associates to thank for this success. My dress size is also going down and I am healthier than I’ve been in years! I am loving BC and have accomplished physical challenges never before attempted…and I love it. THANKS to Rachel, Jennifer, and Amber for all your support and teaching me to believe in myself.

Megan Aikins, Sulphur Springs, Texas

I have tried P31 several times, and I would set a goal to stay with it.  As life would get hectic though, I would put my exercising on the back-burner, but this last month I completed every M-W-F am class! I am proud of myself and plan to continue. Thank you P31!

P31 Fitness Member, Van, Texas

I wanted to tell you that I am enjoying P31 immensely!! I have never worked as hard as I am now. I am trusting God that attending class will become like second nature to me and become a part of who I am. Thank you for being an awesome leader and providing challenging exercise routines. I know that my spirit and health will continued to be blessed by P31.

Denise Hurley, Sulphur Springs, Texas

My thanks to P31, since joining less than a year ago I have achieved the BEST level of physical fitness in almost 20 yrs. The knowledge, support & instruction I have gained is invaluable. With the help of P31 I have lost 65 lbs & 4 dress sizes and gained fitness, health, & self-confidence. The women at P31 care about and support each other, sweat together, laugh together and celebrate each others successes.

Thank you for offering the all access pass, it is great. It gives me so much more flexibility with my schedule plus the advantage of getting in extra workouts. I go to more classes than I thought I could because of all the choices. Each class is different and I get a different result. Thank you for making this available.

Dawn McCampbell, Yantis, TX

I have been a member of P31 for a number of years, and I STILL look forward to each MWF morning to see my early morning friends. I love the energy I gain when I am able to be constant with my attendance. I had never been involved in a regular workout program before P31, and my energy level was never a problem, I thought. I am NOT a morning person, but once my feet hit the floor, I am eager to get my day started with P31, even if it is 4:30 AM. I am so excited about P31 coming to Yantis. I have met new friends, become reacquainted with old ones, and I love our trainer. I am blessed!

Charlotte Parker, Yantis, TX

My husband and I just moved to Yantis, TX after selling our Resort in Kentucky and retiring.  We spent 9 months in our RV, traveling and eating!  When we finally found our home in Yantis and I heard about P31, I jumped at the chance to try to get back in shape.  So I joined P31 in July during Bootcamp!  I didn’t think I was going to make it through the first day, much less the first week!  I could have easily blamed my age (64) for not being able to hang with the P31 ‘girls,’  but I endured, mainly because of the other ladies who were being so loyal about being there each morning at 5:15 and because of our awesome inspiring leader!  The one hour physical workout has not only improved my stamina and confidence, but I also can see a big difference in how my clothes fit!  But more than that, the daily scriptures and emails we get from P31 strengthens me spiritually.  I never thought I would want to (or be able to) get up this early to start my day with such an intense workout, but what a difference it makes in my life!

Marci Chapman, Tom Bean, Texas

For a very long time I have wished for a workout/bootcamp to come to Tom Bean. When I heard about it I was one of the first to sign up. It has been everything and more I ever expected. I lost my sweet mom on Christmas night and this couldn’t have come at a better time. It has helped me to stay in touch with God and let off a lot of steam! Did I say a lot of steam?!?! I feel so much better about myself. Brandey is amazing, and a God sent blessing to all of us. I’m so proud of myself for sticking with it as well as all the other girls in our group. Thank you, Brandey; you’re the best!!!

Every year in the beginning of summer I choose a day to trim the hedges, prune up the trees, and to turn over the mulch. Just a little sprucing up. I dread this every year due to the heat, the pain of arms, hands, legs that will last for days but so love the results of my labor. See because it trim the hedges with a hand trimmer, hand pruner, and use my hands and squatting to turn over the flower bed.

So I dressed appropriately, light colored t shirt, shorts, tennis shoes and a cap. You know because the heat is going to be awful.

So today was the day!

Well half way through my yard work I begin to smile and giggle (okay to myself). I was thinking WOW you know it really is not that hot. My arms and hands have not cramped or hurt once actually they feel really strong. As I begin the squatting and working in the flower bed that silly smile and giggle begin again. WOW my legs are not shaking, my back does not hurt and I don’t grunt trying to stand up. The sweat in my eye or dripping off my chin was not bothering me just a small swipe and all was gone. Before you know it all the work is done, limbs and trash picked up and sidewalks sweep  and I feel great no aches or pains. So off to the shower I go and when I get in front of the mirror I notice I am soaking wet from head to toe from sweat and had not even notice.

Long story short…………..My mental, emotional, spiritual fruits are seen in my daily walk but today I saw the physical side of my P31 labors come to pass.
Thank you, ladies, for your heart in teaching the mental, emotional and spiritual each week but THANK YOU for the physical regimen you teach each and every week. Today, I saw the STRONG P31 woman I am becoming!!!!!!!

Jennifer Griner

Hi! I’m Jennifer Griner, a mother of 3 rowdy boys (12, 8, & 5). I have always struggled with my weight and accepting myself. I have never been athletic! 2 years ago, I was an over-weight stay at home Mom. With my family’s support, I decided to join the Texas Army National Guard. With lots of hard work and probably not the safest way, I lost 70 pounds just to be able to “meet weight” and join. I have passed my APFT test every time but with just barely the minimal. Completing Basics and AIT, I quickly received temporary orders for 4 months. Struggling with eating healthy and no time to work out I starting putting weight back on. I knew I had to do something! Working a full time civilian job, I couldn’t work out for 3-4 hours every day nor could I starve myself.

I saw an email about P31 New Year’s Blast BootCamp and thought I would give it a try to see if I liked it. It was only a week long and I didn’t invest a lot of money into it. To motivate myself, I pay myself every time I work out. Day 1 – It was HARD!! But I loved how all the ladies that welcomed me and made me feel a part of them. Day 2 – I was looking forward to seeing what else we would be doing and the “girl” time. Day 3 – I could barely move!!! I was so sore. Day 5 – I was hooked! I decided that I could do it! I was excited for January Boot Camp to start.

I loved the fellowship with the other ladies and the motivation and encouragement. The health tips that we receive in class and via email starting sinking in. I realized that my previous dieting was not healthy!  Writing down our goals and reasons for working out really put everything into perspective. I started making changes in my family’s eating habits and even the boys said they could tell a difference and felt better.

Over the last 2 years I had allowed life and my “busyness” get in the way of my spiritual growth.  Every morning we have a short devotional and again in the email. I found myself drawing back closer to God and we have started attending church again. The ladies now know me enough to know when something is going on and offer to pray for me. They lift my spirit up so much! I now have completed February workout and ran TWO 5K races!! I never had enough belief in myself that I could run a 5K. The ladies were always telling us that we can do it….and I DID! I didn’t finish First but I didn’t finish Last either. My goals now have changed from finishing to shaving off time and running a 10K.

During February Drill I didn’t get nervous about PT because I knew that I could do it! My sit-ups and push-ups have improved so much! During formation runs, I normally fall back to the middle or the end but not this time, I led the formation! Only 2 18 year olds passed me during the release run. I have not weighed yet to see how much weight I have lost. However, I have lost 4” from my hips and 3” from my waist. I bought a new pair of jeans and they were a size smaller! I love P31 and how it is a full body workout and focuses on complete fitness – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

It’s good to re-evaluate our why! I’ve shared my physical why, but I need to share again my P31 why! I LOVE P31! I love the whole program! I love my ladies! I love training! I love the community! I love the accountability! I love that through me sharing your devotionals & your focuses that I am reminded of my worth!  I love that it is so much more than a workout I love the ministry! I’m constantly reminded that its not about me and that I can’t do it alone!  I feel like I’ve grown so much since walking in my first class Dec. 31st. My family has grown!  I really can’t wait to see what else God has in store!!!

My arms are so sore I could barely blow dry or flat iron my hair this morning – but that’s a GREAT thing (never thought I would say that). I will be completing my 8th month of P31 the end of this week, and I have had more accomplishments than I ever dreamed.  See . . . I still remember my first day of July Bootcamp when I thought I was going to pass out on my first half lap around the tennis court, BUT I ran my first 5K ever this month and actually ran the whole thing. I couldn’t do one push up much less 10, and though they are still somewhat of a struggle, I push myself to do as many as possible NOT on my knees (another accomplishment/personal goal). I always feel so awesome on my drive to work knowing what I have already accomplished that morning!! All that being said, I have decided that P31 brings so much balance to my life as well God’s awesome WORD!!!

THANK YOU P31…..THANK YOU Rachel and Kristi ?

Wow this is really changing lives!!  I was saved when I was 23 and I love how much you remind the ladies of Jesus and how much we need him in our lives!!

In our class full of young mothers, new members, older ladies, and seasoned trainers, I am encouraged by P31 Fitness.   I want all the P31 Fitness ladies to know their worth and place in this program–each lady gives so much to the class.  When you think no one notices or when you think you are different and don’t fit in, celebrate those differences and own them.  You fit in exactly as you are, and no one can replace the mark you leave on this earth.  When we walk in faith, fearless, that’s when we can really start to serve others.  P31 Fitness provides this environment!

I had an awesome time!!  I felt so welcomed!!  Everyone insisting on sharing water, and someone gave me her mat to use. I just loved it!

I just wanted to say thank you for all your efforts to seek out the Lord on this decision to offer P31 Fitness in our area. I cannot begin to tell you what P31 has meant to me and I just wanted you to know that it has changed me, blessed me and met needs that I didn’t even know I had.

I also want you to know how incredibly honored I feel to have had such a wonderful trainer. God has blessed me with a new friend in her and she truly knows her stuff about caring for the whole person. She is a jewel and my life is different because of her. She is top notch in my book. Best trainer I have ever had. Thank you for P31 Fitness!

[Regarding her recent Type 1 Diabetes checkup] I went to see my endocrinologist today for my 3 month diabetes check up. My last 3 visits (period of 9 months) have been my best ever in 18 years of battling this disease.  My 3 month blood sugar average has lowered to borderline normal which is unheard of for a type 1 diabetic.  Of course, they’re not ever “normal” but just means the overall average comes out to be that ? The biggest news today was my cholesterol was 146!! My cholesterol for the last 18 years, even in high school was around 200.   My cholesterol dropping is truly due to P31! I guess what they say is true diet and exercise….. ? My doctor wanted me on cholesterol medications for years, but I wanted to wait until after kids. When it was checked 6 months ago it had lowered slightly (180s).  I begged him then to let me keep working, and since then I’ve started P31 and kept my health a priority = 146!! He truly couldn’t get over how good all my “numbers” looked with no medications. Anyway, once again numbers aren’t everything but it sure helps reinforce why I’m doing this! Always remember why YOU are doing this!!

Sheri Looney, Sulphur Springs, Texas

My name is Sheri Looney. In June 2009, at age 45, I found myself very overweight, out-of-shape and ready to make a change. I have had weight issues for a long time, and I’ve even gone through an eating disorder. I had read about the upcoming P31 Boot Camp in the newspaper, and I thought maybe I could give it a try. I had already heard good things about it from my niece, Kelsey, who assured me that “Coach Curtis” is awesome and that I could go at my own pace. She even signed up for Boot Camp to help support me. I’ll be honest – it was really hard at first; in fact, there were some hot summer mornings running around the tennis court at Buford Park when I thought I couldn’t go another step, and then I would get encouragement from Rachel or Kelsey or Jennifer or someone I didn’t even know and I would think, “Okay, I can do this, just keep going.” So, I kept going, and today, almost nine months later, I lost 85 pounds, 33 inches and 18% body fat. I work out every morning and some afternoons, and I love it!! I remember thinking on day one of Boot Camp that P31 was going to help change my life, and I was right. Of course, the outward weight loss is the most obvious change, but P31 has helped me make so many other changes as well on the inside. The spiritual focus on God that P31 emphasizes is so important and has helped me to refocus and re-prioritize things in my life that I had neglected. I love the Power of 4 and the way that I’ve been able to apply them to my daily life to make changes for the better. I’m less stressed, more grateful for what I have, and I just feel better about myself . I think empowered is the best word I could use to describe the way I feel now. I can do things now that I never thought I’d be able to do, and that is an amazing feeling. I also love the fact that Rachel and all of the trainers emphasize that it’s not about the number on the scale, but more about eating foods that are good for us, working out and being healthy. It took some time to change my way of thinking, and there are some days that I still struggle with it, but I always know that I can talk to Rachel or any of the trainers and they will be willing to listen and give advice and encouragement. The support I receive from Rachel, Jennifer, Amber and Kelly through their leadership and their encouragement has been a big part of my success so far. I think they all bring out the best in everyone in the way they lead by example in their own unique ways. Also, working out with a group of women who care if you’re not there and encourage you when you are has been a big part of the process. At first, I was nervous about working out with people I didn’t know, but now I’ve made friends with women I would not have otherwise met.  Almost every day, someone asks me how I’ve lost the weight, and when I tell them P31 Fitness, most will say, “Oh, I could never do that,” but I always tell them, “Yes, you can, because if I can, ANYONE can.” I encourage anyone who wants to make positive changes in their life, physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally, to try P31 Fitness. It is definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

About a year ago I read a testimony on the P31 website of a woman who lost a significant amount of weight and a few dress sizes. I thought to myself, “That can never be me.” It was that kind of thinking that kept me from achieving any goals I had in regards to fitness. I became a member of P31 about 2 years ago, but really committed to it FULLY about a year ago. I learned being healthy is a Lifestyle, not just an item to check off on your daily checklist but being healthy in every aspect of my life. I began to push myself a little harder each class and I was seeing an increase in strength in the exercises that I couldn’t do before. Every exercise we did, I only did the low levels (pushups, jumping jacks, weights). I thought because I was not athletic I could never be fast or strong. I realize now that it was stinkin thinkin! I began to apply the scriptures and devotionals to my life and my workout. And began to work a little harder in every area of our workout and before long, I was running around the building without stopping, doing sit ups, and planking became something I did at home while watching commercials! I’ve gone from a size 14 to a size 6, thanks to P31! I finally took to heart the words our trainer says to us each class “you’re up early, you might as well WORK HARD” and I make it my goal to work hard every class! It’s almost like a veil of self-doubt has been lifted and I CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens me! P31 has taught me how to eat right, how to maintain my weight, but mostly how to be a Godly woman from the inside out!

After completing the first week of boot camp this summer, I can honestly say that P31 has been one of the best things that has happened to me. I started P31 last summer with the only intent to lose weight. Although I have lost 9 lbs since joining, I now realize that “losing weight” is no longer my only purpose for continuing to be a part of P31. I am so passionate about this program and how it has transformed me as a person. It has reached down to my core and pulled something out of me that I never knew I had. P31 as a whole is just what I needed, from the daily devotionals to the awesome trainers that put in so much time and effort to motivate us to be better women-not only for us, but for the people around us. Thank you so much for changing my life and the many women who put in all their hard work and sweat to making this program what it is.

What an awesome ministry you have. You have no idea how far the blessings of what you do reach.  Since coming to P31–I am stronger, healthier, and happier (physically, spiritually, mentally & emotionally). Thus I am a better wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, & employee. So that everyone I know is blessed by what God is doing through you–Amazing!  I have lost 40-50 lbs to date since I first came last fall!!

P31 is life changing! It’s a commitment and you must be ready for that commitment. Women think they can’t do certain things and through P31 we realized that we can. Thanks for P31 and the difference it has made.

I just wanted to let you know that P31 Fitness has been such a blessing in my life. I absolutely love p31 and am greatly encouraged by the trainers each week. I think I can speak for all of us working out when I say that I see God’s light shining so brightly through this program. It is amazing and pushes me to strive to be more like Christ and let his light shine in my life as well. I think that it is awesome to be a part of a program this is built around God and that we keep our focus on the power of 4 each month rather than simply on physical fitness. I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate P31 Fitness!

I LOVE P31! I love the way the trainers are so positive, caring, and encouraging. Being a part of the group makes me more accountable. I am blessed by P31’s commitment to the Spiritual, Mental, and Physical aspects of women. P31 leads women to a higher level of awareness and appreciation for our true purpose here as Christian women.

The summer boot camp was an awesome experience for me. It is amazing to see what God can do when women in a community join together to change. For me personally, I was blessed to realize the truth in what you pointed out to us: I am so much more than just a number on a scale. Thank you for showing all of us what our potential truly is!!!

I joined P31 in July 2010, after much convincing from Laci that I really could survive! I never thought I would be able to get up and work out three days a week at 5:15 in the morning…there was just no way my body could function that early. After I attended the first class, I decided it was for me. It is similar to a class I had done at a gym, but the atmosphere is so much better. I feel better about myself for working out and trying to enrich not only my physical well-being but also mental, spiritual, and emotional. And, I have finally listened to the advice of Rachel and stayed off the scale. Laci and Amanda are such great supporters and encourages that I even began working out all five days with the beginning of the October session. I’m hooked! Thanks P31 for what you are doing in the lives of women, and as an extension, in the lives of our loved ones.

I just want to thank P31 Fitness and the trainers. I am so proud to be a part of such a wonderful program. I absolutely love the workouts and enjoy the support of all the women. It is so nice to be able to work out in the morning with women who have the same goals in mind in getting fit. I honestly cannot imagine my life without P31 now. I now find myself less focused on numbers and more on my health! Again thank you for P31 Fitness in my life!

I can tell you that P31 has been a huge positive in my life.  I went to my first class in April of 2009 because I was sick of feeling like “mush”.  I figured I would become physically stronger.  Little did I know that I would also become mentally, emotionally, and spiritually stronger! P31 gave me a place to connect with other women that had the same and different struggles as me.  I found that it was okay to be me…but also to push myself to being the best I could be.  I discovered that I was worth the effort of taking time for myself and that by doing this I was also better able to serve my family in the way God desired…plus it did make me a nicer and happier person to everyone I encountered. I hope that you find yourself discovering your blessings and building upon those.  I encourage you to get to know those around you.  The ladies of P31 are awesome and we are a support for one another.

Just wanted to say that this week’s verse and reminder to be quiet and trust God has hit me straight on. My life has been full of one calamity after another…until I sat down and pulled my Bible open and read God’s beautiful words of unfailing love. My problems have not disappeared but they have become His concern. He will take care of all my needs if I will only let Him. P31 has entered into my consciousness in such a way that I am reminded daily to reach out for help and understanding. I have known about God for a long time but seemed to always try to fix everything all by myself. What a wonderful gift to be able to give my concerns to someone who loves me so much. I will strive for that quiet spirit.

My daughter lives in Sulphur Springs and has told me wonderful things about this fitness program. I have seen some of the women that attend and what it has done for them on the inside and outside! Having a spiritually lead and rooted health and fitness program is wonderful. I’m going to be praying that it will be in my area soon…if I had a fitness background I would love to get one started. Please keep me informed on spreading south to Austin, TX!

I just wanted to touch base with you and let you know how much I LOVE P31!!!!!! The way I found out about it was a total God set-up to begin with, and I’ve already experienced pressure from “the opposition” to try and discourage me…..hurt back in the beginning, terrible week of sleep this week, fear of failure. But instead of discouragement, I have been very encouraged this week! Thanks for your commitment, enthusiasm, and prayers, and I look forward to many more classes!

I began doing the M-W-F classes in September 2009 and slowly added the T-Th cardio class. After a while I began to do the evening classes also. I would find that after the morning workout I would think “Ok, I’m not going this afternoon. I’ve already worked out hard enough.” However, by the time 5:00 would roll around, I was putting my clothes back on and going back for more!! I started to crave this madness!! I compare P31 classes and Bootcamp to childbirth. Every day, during class when I am hurting, I think “I am NEVER doing this again!!! This is crazy!!” However, after we stretch and cool down, I get up and hobble to my car thinking “Hey, that was kinda fun!! That really wasn’t that bad!!” Then the next day during class I remember how bad the pain is and start the whole process over!!! ha ha The positive thing about it being like childbirth is that the end result is definitely worth it!! Knowing that I am getting stronger every day and can do more push ups and hold planks longer than ever before makes me feel great! I have lost more inches than pounds – therefore, I stay off the scales!! P31 has been awesome for me! I look forward to going and being with a great group of ladies every day and challenging myself both physically and mentally. I cannot say enough good things (despite what I may think and whisper in class – ha ha) about Rachel, Amber, and Jennifer. Your commitment to our group and the Lord is awesome!! THANK YOU!!!
